ARTIST STATEMENT & BIO
Karim Noureldin is a Swiss-Egyptian Visual Artist, based in Lausanne, Switzerland. After studies at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste ZHdK / Zurich University of the Arts and graduate of Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst FHNW / Academy of Art and Design Basel, he since works in the field of drawings, paintings, photos, sculptures and large site-specific installations in a variety of private and public environments as well as contemporary art galleries and international museums, as Studio Karim Noureldin collaborating with architects in various Art & Architecture projects.

Installed in the courtyard of „Antico Mercato“, the site-specific installation „Eight“ by Swiss artist
Karim Noureldin, contrasts with its polychromatic, ornamental structure to the architecture of
„Antico Mercato“ and its materiels, red granit, black lava and beige sand stone. The large wall
display, set as a visual sign when entering the site with its center fountain, is seen from all four
sides of the courtyard and its surrounding arcades, transforming the open area of „Antico
Mercato“ into a new spacial and, artistic environment. Karim Noureldin works in the field of
drawings, paintings, photos, sculptures and large site-specific installations in a variety of private
and public environments as well as contemporary art galleries and international museums,
collaborating often with architects in various Art & Architecture projects.
